조직폭력배 장태산은 곧 아버지가 된다. 사랑하는 여자친구 인혜와 아이와 새로운 인생을 살기 위해, 태산은 조직을 떠나기로 결심한다. 하지만 탈퇴 직전, 보스 문일석 대신 살인 사건의 누명을 쓰지 않으면 인혜를 죽일 것이란 협박을 받는다. 태산은 인혜에게 작별을 고하면서 아이는 지우라고 말한다. 8년 후, 복역을 마쳤지만 여전히 조직에서 벗어나지 못한 태산은 우연히 인혜와 마주치고, 인혜가 그때 낙태를 하지 않고 딸 수진을 낳아 기르고 있다는 걸 알게 된다. 문제는 수진이 불치병으로 골수 이식이 필요한 상황이라는 것. 태산과 수진의 골수가 일치하면서, 태산은 딸을 살리기 위해 2주 뒤 이식 수술을 하기로 결정한다. 하지만 얼마 후 태산은 또다시 살해 용의자로 형사들에게 체포되는데, 이송 중 교통사고가 난 틈을 타 도주한다.
