Set in the backdrop of Sino-Japanese war, the movie portrays dramas of betrayal and violence that happen between the Japanese army and a Shanghai-based crime organization. Lu, a merciless gangster in Shanghai, is unwilling to work with Japanese who are invading China. However, his brother-in-law Watabe, who swore loyalty to China, works with Japan behind his back and eventually betrays the organization. Moreover, Watabe rapes and exploits Xiao Liu, the wife of Lu’s boss. As the war comes to an end, Lu and Xiao Liu seek revenge.
