중앙정보부 김 부장은 헬기에 자리가 없다는 이유로 대통령의 외부 행사에 참여하지 못한다. 서울에 남은 그는 주치의에게 음주를 줄이고 일을 잠시 쉬라는 권유를 받지만, 대통령이 오늘도 만찬을 연다는 소식을 듣고 수행비서 민 대령과 함께 궁정동으로 향한다. 대통령을 경호하는 차 실장은 대통령의 총애 덕분에 세상 무서운 것 없다는 듯이 김 부장을 무시한다. 김 부장은 결국 자신의 심복인 주 과장에게 말한다. \"오늘 내가 해치운다.\" 주 과장은 궂은일을 도맡아 하며 김 부장의 신임을 받고 있지만, 매일 대통령의 향락을 위해 일하는 현실에 회의가 든다. 그날도 대통령의 만찬에 젊은 여성과 가수들을 불러야 했던 그는, 김 부장이 암살 계획을 털어놓자 잠시 머뭇거리지만 작전을 실행한다.
Director Kim of KCIA was sidelined for the President's business trip. His doctor recommends a break from work, but Kim and Colonel Min, Kim's assistant, go to the luxurious brothel, where the President holds another secret dinner party. Director Cha, the President's security detail, looks down on Kim and KCIA. Finally, Kim tells Chief Ju, one of his most trusted subordinates, that he will kill the President. Ju recently feels skeptical about his job: to prepare drinks, women, and entertainment to fulfill the President's desire. When Kim tells the night's plan, he hesitates a second but follows his order.
