신입 경찰 최민재는 광역 수사대로 전출된다. 수사대 반장 박강윤은 출처 불명의 막대한 후원금으로 화려하게 살면서 범죄를 수사해 왔다. 강윤은 옛 동료의 아들인 민재에게 자신의 특별한 수사 방식까지 알려주며 친분을 다 지지만, 사실 민재는 감찰 계장 황인호의 지시로 광역수사대에 전출되어 강윤의 비밀을 파헤친 언더커버 경찰이었다. 하지만 민재는 수사를 계속하며 자신의 아버지와 강윤의 진짜 인연과 이들을 둘러싼 경찰 조직의 비밀을 알게 된다.
Choi Min-jae, a rookie detective, recently transferred to the Metropolitan Investigation Team, led by Park Gang-yoon. Park is famous for his lavish lifestyle, which a police officer doesn't seem to afford. Gang-yoon takes care of Min-jae as he is the son of the late co-worker, while Min-jae secretly investigates Gang-yoon's corruption by order of Hwang In-ho from the Internal Unit. As the investigation goes, Min-jae finds out the truth about his father and Gang-yoon's past, as well as the more dark secrets residing inside the police society.
