고교 때 살인죄를 뒤집어 쓴 장기 복역수로서 거친 인생을 살아온 양강칠은 대차고 발랄한 수의사 정지나와 우연히 조우해 바보처럼 거침없는 사랑을 하게 된다. 강칠은 소위 기적 같은 판타지적인 상황을 경험하게 되고, 점차 세상에 대한 냉소적인 시선을 거두고 적극적으로 바뀌어 간다. 그러나 어느 날 강칠은 자신이 누명을 쓴 살인 사건의 피해자가 지나의 삼촌임을 알게 되고, 소중한 지나와의 관계를 잃지 않으려 진범을 찾기 위한 증거를 모으기 시작한다.
Yang Kang-chil served 16 years in prison for a murder he didn't commit. After his release, Kang-chil becomes a carpenter and falls in love with Jang Ji-na, a selfish woman who is a veterinarian. Ji-na and Kang-chil are drawn to each other and eventually falls deeply in love with each other. However, Kang-chil finds out that Ji-na's uncle was the victim in his murder case, and to prove his innocence and protect his relationship with Ji-na, he desperately seeks evidence that will bring the real murderer to justice.
