2000년 6월 15일, 남북한의 지도자가 평양에서 만나 손을 맞잡았다. 두 사람은 남북의 적대 관계를 끊고 평화와 협력의 시대를 열어가자고 선언했다. 남북공동선언이 이뤄낸 가장 큰 성과는 개성공단이다. 서울에서 70km, 평양과 서울을 연결하는 요충지인 개성은 남북한의 첫 경제협력지구로 지정됐다. 남한 제조업 기업들의 새로운 돌파구이자 북한 사람들에겐 자본주의와 남한을 접하는 통로가 되었던 개성공단. 하지만 정권이 바뀌면서 관계는 단절되고, 공단은 폐쇄된다. 4년 4개월 후 맞은 2020년 6월, 다큐멘터리는 개성공단에서 장난감 공장을 운영했던 박남서 대표와 함께 개성공단의 시작과 갑작스러운 종결, 미래에 대한 희망에 대해 다룬다.
On June 15, 2000, the leaders from two Koreas met in Pyongyang and declared the end of hostility between the countries and the new era of peace and cooperation. The biggest accomplishment from the declaration is to make an industrial complex at Kaesong, the city between Seoul and Pyongyang. The first economic cooperation region is the breakthrough for the SK's small industrial companies and a new window to the world to the people of the NK. But the regime changed, and the complex was shut down. After four years and four months, at the twentieth commemoration for the declaration, the documentary follows Mr. Park Nam-seo, who ran the toy factory at Kaesong, to examine the history and future of the two Korea's cooperation.
