고등학교 국어 교사인 장이산은 소심하고 내성적이며 다른 사람들에게 묻혀가는 조용한 삶을 추구한다. 하지만 그의 인생은 가출소녀 은별을 만나면서 달라진다. 은별의 아버지이자 전국을 주름잡은 조직폭력배 두목 재곤은 이산에게 10억을 줄 테니 은별의 입주 과외 선생님이 되어 달라고 하고, 이산은 고민 끝에 제안을 받아들인다. 아버지가 정해준 인생을 거부하며 반항했던 은별은 이산의 진심 어린 보살핌과 조언으로 조금씩 마음을 열어간다.
Jang I san teaches Korean at a high school. He is a very timid and reserved man. One day, he runs into a runaway girl, Yu Eun Byeol. She is the only daughter of the leader of a nation gang, Yu Jae Gon. Unlike I San, she has her own way of living and tenacity second to none.
