1592년 4월, 임진왜란이 시작된 지 15일 만에 조선 수도 한양이 왜군에 점령당한다. 왜군은 조선을 거쳐 명나라로 향하겠다는 야망을 불태우며 대규모 병력을 부산포에 집결시킨다. 위기의 상황에서 전라좌수사 이순신이 이끄는 조선 수군은 왜군과 대등한 싸움을 벌이고 있었지만, 그들에겐 전쟁의 흐름을 바꿀 만한 결정적이고 압도적인 승리가 필요했다. 치열한 첩보전을 벌이며 전투를 준비한 조선군과 왜군은 마침내 그해 여름, 한산도 앞바다에서 조선의 운명을 결정할 해전에 돌입한다.
In April 1592, just 15 days after the first attack, the Japanese Troops take over Hanyang, Joseon's capital, and rampage through the peninsula. Feeling triumphant with the victories, Toyotomi Hideyoshi prepares the next phase: to invade the Chinese Mainland. Admiral Lee Soon-shin and his naval force keep crushing the Japanese Navy in the sea, but they need a crucial and absolute victory that could change the course of the war. After intense cloak-and-dagger work, the two troops finally clash head to head at an open sea near Hansan-do, a remote island in the southern sea.
