백제의 최후를 위해 싸운 장수 계백을 재조명한 드라마. 계백은 백제 무왕의 호위무사 무진의 아들로 태어났지만, 아버지가 누명을 쓰면서 평민으로 자라났다. 계백은 장터에서 은고라는 상인을 만나 사랑에 빠진다. 하지만 싸움에 휘말린 계백이 전쟁노예로 강등되어 신라와의 전쟁에 강제로 참전하고, 그곳에서 무왕의 아들 의자왕과 재회한다. 의자왕과 계백은 두터운 우정을 나누면서도 은고의 마음을 놓고 경쟁하는 사이가 된다.
Gyebaek is a historical drama about a general who threw himself for keeping his nation from falling. The show describes him as the finest warrior and leader loyal to Baekje and the King. It also reinterprets the ruin of Baekje, describing Uija of Baekje (the last king) as a monarch who tried to bring revolution to his country. The story also focuses on two men's relationship as the king and the general, close friends, and rivals in a love triangle.
