대학생 토일은 과외 학생인 호훈과 열애 끝에 아이를 임신한다. 임신 5개월에 접어들자, 토일은 어머니 선명과 아버지 태효에게 아이도 낳고 호훈과 결혼하겠다 선언한다. 하지만 부모님은 토일의 통보에 당 황하며 임신을 축복하는 대신 아기를 어떻게 키울 것이냐 다그친다. 토일은 태효에게 축복받지 못한 건 자신이 친딸이 아니기 때문이라 생각한다. 그래서 토일은 어릴 때 헤어진 친아빠를 찾아 떠난다. 단서는 많지 않다. 성이 최 씨이고, 대구에 살며, 기술가정 과목을 가르친다는 것. 어릴 적 살던 동네를 찾은 토일은 희미한 기억을 더듬으며 아버지를 찾는다. 몇 번의 실패 끝에 겨우 아버지를 찾지만, 그의 모습은 기대와는 달랐다. 실망만 가득 안고 서울로 돌아온 토일. 하지만 그 사이 호훈과 연락이 끊어진다. 이제 토일은 뱃속 아이의 아빠를 찾아 나서야 하는데...
To-il is having a baby with her boyfriend, Ho-hoon. She announces her pregnancy to her parents after entering the second trimester. Instead of celebrating her, they keep asking what she will do to raise a child. Disappointed, To-il thinks that Tae-hyo, her stepfather, doesn't celebrate her because she is not his biological child. That's why To-il embarks on a journey to find her birth father. There are a few clues: he lives in Daegu, his family name is Choi, and he teaches Home Economics & Technology. After several failed attempts, she finds him; only he doesn't meet her expectation. Doubly disappointed, To-il returns to Seoul, finding out that Ho-hoon has disappeared.
